It’s getting Colder
I’ve mentioned several times over the last few weeks that it’s getting colder here in Michiana near Lake Michigan: How to Make a Campfire, S’mores, Flannel, Yoga Pants, Scouting St. Joe, Winterizing the Boat, Summer to Fall, Embrace the Changing Season … ok, so I’ve mentioned it a lot lately!
Dress for Survival
One of the things that Kyle learned growing up in Minnesota was that you need to have the proper gear or clothing to survive. Specifically, he wanted to get a pair of leather moccasin slippers. I wasn’t quite into that look, but I was definitely into buying new “shoes” – even if I’d never leave the house with them!
My Feet are cozy
I researched and searched various products, but eventually, decided that I wanted to get a pair of Toms India Slippers. (I also got Kyle a pair of slippers from Toms, but they didn’t fit his foot right, so he ended up with a pair from Amazon.)
We have a basement with cement floors and the rest of our house is either hardwood or tile. We do have rugs in a few of the rooms, but generally speaking our floors are hard … and cold. So what we really liked about both of our slippers is the hard bottom and soft lining.
We always wear socks with slippers to prevent less odor problems, but both pairs are machine-washable (air dry only, do not put in dryer). In order to keep them clean longer, we do not wear these slippers outside of the house.

Of course, the other benefit of Toms is their commitment to giving back, which I like to be a part of. It’s great when a company sees the importance of helping others, and creating great products.
