Transitions
I ❤️ summertime – but my favorite season is fall. The transition from summer to fall is pretty awesome too! It’s cool and crisp in the morning but by late morning, it’s hot enough to still hit the beach for a few hours. Although it’s too cold for swimming – this year the lake turned over and the water is already freezing!
It’s perfect weather to go for an evening bike ride or walk to look for beach glass – or in our case to do BOTH!
Flannel & Jeans
I love wearing flannel shirts and jeans – especially when we go camping or hiking. The mornings and evenings are also getting cooler. We may be able to shut off the AC and sleep with windows open soon.
Please don’t get me wrong – I want to hold on to summer for as long as I can 🎶🎵 but change is coming really soon, so I want to embrace the change in seasons!
Nature changes clothes too
How can I not mention the lovely colors of fall? There’s still some green but things are beginning to turn light yellow, which will go to orange and red in a few weeks.
We’ve been driving up to St. Joe to put the boat away, and there’s a stretch along I-94 that has beautiful red bushes along the highway. Every day a little more leaves start to turn.
Zeke ♥️ it too!
Zeke loved to lounge in the cool of the mornings and evenings at this time of year. The dog days of summer are over, but there are still plenty of beach (and sailing) days left to enjoy this year.
We’re getting ready to transition to a new season … I’m looking forward to making the most out of this time of year – to get out and explore the area more. We bought a Michigan State Parks pass, and we’re hoping to do some camping and traveling in the next few weeks. I hope you get to get out and enjoy the fall season as well.
Tell me what you think

#WagYourTail Wednesday
What’s “Wag Your Tail” Wednesday? It’s when I highlight things I love so much that if I was Zeke, I’d have a helicopter tail! Almost as good as meeting a chipmunk for the 1st time!
