I ♥️ Chapstick

I’m not really a big make-up person, but I do love chapstick. In this way, I’m like my grandpa, Earl. He was always carrying the classic original ChapStick in his pocket and pulled it out regularly to use. I’ve always been partial to mint Blistex myself – I can’t stand the fruity flavors. I keep chapstick in various places throughout the house – my office, my purse, the cars, the “magic” (aka junk) drawer.

8 hour cream

After moving to NWI and being exposed to more wind and sun – especially on the boat ⛵, I’ve found that my lips get even more chapped so I needed a tougher solution. This is where Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Face Cream comes in.

Prior to getting married and having children, my mom worked at Robertson’s in South Bend where she sold makeup. She was partial to Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Face Cream and I can remember growing up, she always had some in her purse.

I bought some in back in 2020, and the small 1.7 ounce tube has lasted because until now, I would only occasionally use it. Now, I use it everyday and I have multiple tubes in the various places that I need it – on my nightstand, in my purse and on the boat.

I love that it makes my lips shiny and smooth, so I often wear it instead of lipstick. The only downside is that it does not smell like mint blistex; however, I did find that they have a fragrance-free option as well … either way, it’s a small compromise for unchapped lips!

About Elizabeth Arden

section below from Elizabeth Arden website

A legendary innovator and a tireless entrepreneur, Miss Elizabeth Arden established the American beauty industry a century ago. Born Florence Nightingale Graham, she traveled from rural Canada to New York City, where she opened the first Red Door salon on Fifth Avenue in 1910.

Elizabeth Arden’s fundamental belief was that beauty should not be a veneer of makeup, but an intelligent cooperation between science and nature in order to develop a woman’s finest natural assets. She lived by her mantra, “To be beautiful is the birthright of every woman.”

Miss Arden created skin care products that benefited, not masked, the skin. She not only promoted her concept of Total Beauty, including diligent skincare, nutrition and fitness, but lived it prudently as she persistently sought to bring a scientific approach to skincare formulations …

Through it all, Miss Arden created both an empire and a new industry. Her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to innovation, quality and excellence remain the soul of the company today.
