Stellar Blue

Light crisp German style ale with hints of blueberry. (5.5% ABV)

When we first visited Michigan City several years ago after my parents bought a place up here, we found Shoreline Brewery. I can share much more about Shoreline (and will in the future) but I’ll start with my favorite beer from them, Stellar Blue. It has subtle hints of blueberries in it. While I will enjoy it bottled at home, I find that it’s best fresh on draught at the bar or if you don’t want to stay, from a growler at home.

Blueberry Lemonade Shandy

You’re craving something light, refreshing and unique. That’s why we created our tasty version of a Radler with an added twist of blueberries. The tart lemonade will help quench your thirst, while the blueberry finishes off this perfectly invigorating beer. (5.0% ABV)

Last year, when we were traveling up to the UP, we stopped in Mackinaw City at The Hook Lakeside Grill. They had 100s of different beers on tap, but i wanted to find a local Michigan beer so I tried Saugatuck Brewing Co.’s Blueberry Lemonade Shandy, and this had even more blueberry flavor to it. When I ordered it from the bar, they served it with floating blueberries in it. My only “complaint” is that it makes you so thirsty, you can’t have just 1! Yum!

More to try? Yes, please!

I’m sure there are many other blueberry beers to enjoy but these are just a few of my favorite ones. I really enjoy wheat beers, hazy IPAs, blondes or lagers … I’m not a huge fan of regular IPAs or darker beers but who knows my tastes may change in the future …

In the meantime, you can find me after a long day’s work enjoying a cold one and thankful for another day of being alive! Cheers! 🍻
