Happy Birthday to Me
My favorite birthday dessert growing up was The Original Cookie Co cookie cake. Yes, it had frosting, but this year, Kyle made me a similar cookie for my birthday – except it was homemade!
Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie*

What you need:
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. butter
- ¾ c. granulated sugar
- ¾ c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 2 c. chopped pecans
Steps:
- Pre-heat oven to 350°.
- Combine flour, baking soda + salt.
- Beat butter, sugars, eggs + vanilla until smooth.
- Slowly add in flour mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Spread evenly in a skillet.
- Bake for ~20 – 25 min or until passes “fork test” (if dough sticks, keep cooking).
- Allow to cool before cutting.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

~ 45 min prep + cook time
