Notable Places, Experiences & Events

The wind was pushing us away from the dock, and because of the prop walk, Kyle got spinned around the wrong way leaving the dock.  Fortunately, it was the Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend and everyone decided to head home.  There was no other boat traffic so he had room to turn the opposite direction that we usually go out …  And eventually got it going the right way – whew!

We went toward Chicago about 4 nm, and then turned around.  I was busy talking most of the time, so I didn’t help Kyle adjust sails, but he said we were sailing pretty good.   This time we had both sails up!  We weren’t able to do any tuning yet.

This was the best docking experience for Kyle.  I could just walk off the boat.   However, I still need to work on grabbing the cleat with the line right away.  This time it got stuck on one of the stanchions.  Keep on practicing
