Notable Experiences, Events & Places
This was our 1st time taking guests out on the boat (besides Scott, Kyle’s dad), and it was my parents, Dale & Kay. They were a bit nervous but the weather was great! We were nervous because it was the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, and the boat traffic definitely picked up. (The parking lot was completely full!)
Because we left fairly early, there were lots of fishermen out this morning but we were able to navigate out of the harbor, and the boat traffic wasn’t too bad – especially since we just headed straight out into the lake.
We went toward Chicago about 6.1 nm, and turned around and came home. This time we only sailed with the main sail (still haven’t used both sails at the same time). Since we weren’t going to be home for lunch right away, I had a few snacks out on the water. Other than the cold, it was a great day! We celebrated our 1st time out with guests at Beer Church Brewery in New Buffalo – YUM!
