Notable Experiences, Events & Places

What a day! Our 1st solo crossing! Very few boats out but of course there were 2 jet skis behind us leaving the NB harbor!  We saw maybe 2 – 3 other boats – except we just missed the Indiana Harbor freighter!  If we were 30 minutes later, we would’ve kissed each other.  Thankfully God was watching over us.

When we got to Chicago, I was amazed because there were so many boats out! It was not windy but we saw at least 5 – 10 sailboats in the harbor. There were 4 – 5 tour boats leaving Navy Pier and the Chicago River. We decided to tool around the harbor and take pictures of the skyline before tying up at the mooring ball … we couldn’t have planned a more perfect day!
