Notable Places, Experiences & Events

We left the dock with no trouble and barely any traffic in the harbor.  It was a beautiful day – weather wise.

Since we knew the wind was going to pick up, we sailed with just the jib.  Lately Kara has been pulling it out while Kyle continues to stay at the helm.  It’s a good workout, and not too difficult.

Because the winds started to pick up … and because the USCG started pulling people over, we decided to head in early.

There was a rental boat that seemed to be staying away from us, but then at the last minute decided to cross right in front of us (while we were under sail) … well the USCG didn’t like it, so they pulled the boat over – right in front of us.  We had to divert away from them.  Kara took some pictures and video.  As we pulled into the dock back in NB, we heard folks on the radio saying that they couldn’t find the whistle so they were issued a warning.  Silly renters …

Thankfully we made it home with no issues.  We’re extremely grateful for the USCG and don’t mind them pulling boats over – we would welcome them on our boat.  We’re pretty sure that we have everything in order.
